As you might have read earlier on this blog, I’ve been self-hosting this website along with a lot of friends and clients on a rented server at EasySpeedy. I have done this for about 18 months, and it’s been fun to have my very own webserver with 2 GiB RAM and the works, but as I’ve come to realise, this is a huge waste of money and resources.

For some weeks, I have on-and-off been trying to create my own mirror of cvs.drupal.org in Git, and now it seems I've finally succeeded. I have set it up with Gitweb and everything, and it seems to have complete fidelity with regards to the original data. It has all the branches/heads and tags that Drupal has, meaning that you can use checkouts from this reppository to keep your Drupal installations up-to-date.
