Where there is no vision, the people perish

I've taken an interest in Danish politics, and a thing that really bothers me, is the apparent lack of vision in all Danish politicians.

When I say apparent, it is with the realisation that politicians are (probably) human somewhere beneath the carefully groomed image of a good, honest and just person. And I'd like to think that most people have visions. Or at least _a_ vision. A craving deep down to accomplish or attain something. If only a weak idea of how one wants his future to be. Dreaming of going to Hawaii with someone special or climbing Mt. Everest.

I think this ability is perhaps God's greatest gift, the thing that really sets men and animals apart. The ability to imagine something and take action to attain it. That is what the American constitution is all about. A vision for a free country.

The thing is that the Danish people doesn't have that kind of mindset at all. We actually punish our politicians for having visions.
