So, we've finally gotten internet at our apartment. That's really nice. Currently, I'm in the process of changing webhosts for this domain. My current webhosting-deal has expired, and I still have free webspace at my other webhost – same place I host hoegh.org. So right now I need to move database and stuff. I pray that nothing breaks in the process. Apart from that, I've gotten a long-term assignment (as a temp) at one of the local medico-plants, where we box Band-Aids for the japanese market (among other things), and now I'm working 35 hours a week aside my school-attendance.

So, the Mohammed cartoon flap is still alive and kicking. The experts claim that this will taint the reputation of Denmark for the years to come and that the results of the boycott will never fully subside. Many danes are running around in circles with terror at the loss of prestiege and trade. On the other hand I read somewhere that although Denmark will lose billions in trade over this, the total loss repesents about 1.7% of our total export budget. And in spite of the boycotts, our exports are expected to rise about 3% throughout 2006. So this is no big deal, really. I find it quite amusing, in a twisted way. The muslim world believes that they can make us change our policy on free speech through violence and a paper-tiger boycott of our wares. I expect the long-term damage to their economies will be several orders of magnitude larger then the damage to ours. Denmark is after all a member of the EU and a close ally of the most powerful nation of the earth - two of the largest economic powerhouses in the world. So let them boycott. Like we care. Really. |

So, I've finally managed to find somewhere to live. Some of my friends from the Power school have rented a large flat or a house or something like that. I don't know very much yet. It's going to be rather different from how I've lived until now. Five or six boys, all attending the Power school are going to live there. That's going to be a challenge, but I think we're going to enjoy it. Nothing else to say right now, this is Mikkel Høgh reporting live from Hillerød public library. |

I stumbled on something interesting today – a RoR-like rapid web development framework, written in python, built on CherryPy. TurboGears is the name of the game, and although I haven't had the time to look it over yet, I sure will in the future… Mikkel Høgh out. |
